ANZ chief executive Nuno Matos has announced a five-year plan to "get back to basics" and enhance the bank's underperforming retail business in Australia.
Nuno Matos said that while the New Zealand operations were performing well, the core Australian businesses were behind the competition.
Since Matos took over in July, ANZ shares have risen by over 20%. The new strategy aims to address this issue and improve the bank's overall performance.
