'The Voice' Recap: The Knockouts Continue & First-Ever Mic Drop Is Used

The Voice Recap: Knockouts Continue and First Mic Drop

Michael Bublé made history in Season 28 of The Voice by using the show's first-ever Mic Drop, as the coaches continued narrowing down their teams during the Knockout Rounds.

The Monday, November 3 episode brought more direct face-offs between singers, with coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé forced to eliminate one team member after each duel. In this round, there were no Saves or Steals, so every choice was final. Each coach, however, could use one Mic Drop, sending a chosen artist into the running to perform at the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. Viewers will later vote for their favorite Mic Drop pick.

Team Snoop: Toni Lorene vs. Natala Albertini

First up were Team Snoop’s Toni Lorene and Natala Albertini, the latter having been saved during the Battle Rounds. Natala performed Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish,” while Toni delivered a powerful rendition of “Lady Marmalade.”

“Natalia, your performance was spectacular, you’re gorgeous, I love your outfit. I guess if I had to pick one, I think I’d go with Natalia,” said Reba McEntire.
Niall Horan called Toni a “machine” and added, “The stuff you can do with your voice … there’s something special about you.”

Bublé agreed with Horan, saying he would lean toward Toni as well.

“I am a proud uncle,” Snoop said, clearly impressed by both performers.

Heading Into the Playoffs

As the Knockouts near their conclusion, the pressure intensifies for every team. With each Mic Drop used, the anticipation builds for which artists will move forward to the Playoffs and which will earn a chance to shine in the Rose Parade.

Author’s Summary: The Voice’s Knockout Rounds intensified as Michael Bublé used the first Mic Drop, while strong performances from Team Snoop set the stage for thrilling Playoff rounds ahead.
