Peoria Heights' Longest Serving Mayor Passes Away
Former Peoria Heights Mayor Ray Picl has died, leaving behind a legacy of 28 years of service to the village.
Picl, who served as mayor from 1969 to 1997, holds the record as the longest serving Peoria Heights mayor.
Ray certainly left his mark on our community
said incumbent Mayor Matt Wigginton, who paid tribute to Picl's dedication and service.

Mayor Picl was the steady hand that guided our village for so many years. His vision and commitment have shaped the community we love today
Last year, the village issued a proclamation honoring Picl on his 95th birthday.
