PETA India celebrates designers and brands advancing cruelty-free fashion that benefits animals and the planet with their innovative vegan clothing and accessories.
The CSIR-NIIST (National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology) earned the Vegan Fashion Changemaker of the Year award for creating vegan leather technology using pineapple leaves, banana stems, rice straws, and other plant-based agricultural waste.
The July issue styled by Jyotsna Bisht took this award for dressing actress Jacqueline Fernandez in animal-friendly faux fur in the song "Money Money" from the blockbuster film Raid 2.
Actor and filmmaker Riteish Deshmukh received the award, recognized as PETA India’s “Most Beautiful Vegetarian Celebrity” of 2024, for promoting veganism through his fashion, lifestyle, and plant-based meat brand Imagine Meats.
