South Africa's Communications Minister Solly Malatsi announced the rollout of a single digital ID system via the MyMzansi digital public infrastructure (DPI) blueprint.
The MyMzansi mobile app is part of a digital transformation roadmap unveiled in May, which includes three core components: a single digital ID, a data exchange platform, and a digital payments system.
"We understand this is where the future of accessing government services and the future of communication is going to land,"
said Malatsi in an interview with state broadcaster SABC last month.
The implementation of the MyMzansi plan is expected to transform the country's digital government.
