We are upgrading the Met Office app to provide clearer, simpler, and more user-friendly weather forecasts and warnings. Since 2016, the app has helped millions stay safe and informed about the weather. However, outdated infrastructure has slowed our ability to enhance the experience.
Based on your feedback, we've created a modern, cleaner design that helps you access key weather information quickly and easily. We rebuilt the app from the ground up using a modern framework that allows faster updates and delivers a unified design for both iOS and Android.
New Features and Improvements
- Check the weather in your area for the next hour and up to seven days ahead
- Save your favourite locations for quick access and notifications
- Receive instant alerts for severe weather warnings such as rain, wind, ice, and heat
- View pollen levels and types during the UK pollen season
- Explore interactive maps showing cloud cover, rain, and temperature for the next five days
- Access detailed weather information including feels-like temperature, wind, humidity, visibility, and UV level
