A Turkish Air Force C-130E Hercules cargo plane tragically crashed in Georgia while returning from Azerbaijan, with 20 people onboard.
The aircraft went down dramatically after breaking apart midair, with videos showing the center fuselage and wings spiraling toward the ground.
Per Flightradar24:
“After departure, it turned and positioned itself on a northeasterly track, passing the Mingechevir Reservoir beneath. While passing 15,000 feet, it again turned onto a northwesterly heading before turning west, passing the Georgian border around 10:37 UTC.”
It continued ascending until reaching its cruising altitude of 24,000 feet at 10:41 UTC.
Videos circulating online reveal the aircraft breaking apart in midair, with large sections including the center fuselage and wings falling to the ground.
“The center fuselage with the wings still attached is notably seen spiraling straight down toward the ground.”
The crash event is a significant loss for the Turkish Air Force and highlights the dangers faced during military transport missions.
This tragic crash of a Turkish C-130E over Georgia underscores the vulnerability of military flights and the dire consequences of midair structural failures.
