A five-year-old boy was critically injured when a wall collapsed at a golf club in Sidcup during a birthday celebration, according to eyewitnesses.
Police were called to Family Golf on Sidcup Bypass around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 9. Officers discovered two injured children at the scene.
The boy suffered a severe head injury and was taken to hospital, where his condition remains life-threatening. A six-year-old girl was also hurt but has since been discharged.
“The boy had been attending a birthday party at the time of the incident,” said one witness who preferred to remain anonymous.
The same witness added that staff members at the centre responded quickly and one of them “may have even saved his life.”
“There were loads of police at Family Golf after it happened,” another person told News Shopper.
Visitors trying to reach American Golf, a shop inside the complex, reported online that the area was closed off with police tape while officers investigated the scene.
It remains unclear which part of the building the wall collapse occurred in.
