A federal government-backed feasibility study into a critical minerals processing facility in Tasmania will commence to enhance the state's downstream processing potential.
The study, which secured federal funding, aims to explore the possibility of a Common User Processing Facility (CUPF) in Tasmania, following similar initiatives in Western Australia and Queensland.
Business, Industry and Resources minister Felix Ellis stated that the feasibility study will initially focus on a CUPF (or multiple CUPFs) for tin and tungsten, both of which are on Australia's critical minerals list.
