Isaiah Hugley Announces Candidacy for Mayor
Hundreds gathered to support former Columbus City Manager Isaiah Hugley as he officially announced his candidacy for mayor on Monday.
Hugley's announcement comes nearly five months after he was terminated from his position by the city council on May 27 with a 7-3 vote, citing ongoing issues and lack of leadership.
“With great humility, and unwavering hope, I officially declare my candidacy to be the next mayor of Columbus Georgia,”
Hugley declared his focus on unity and community needs if elected as Columbus’ next mayor. At the time of his firing, Hugley told supporters,
“There is more to come, you haven’t seen the last of me.”
