CO2 Storage Licence Tracker Launched
The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) has introduced a CO₂ Storage Licence Tracker, an online tool consolidating information on carbon dioxide storage permits across nine countries, including the UK, US, and Norway.
The tracker monitors exploration and exploitation permits, providing a practical way for policymakers, regulators, project developers, and investors to benchmark progress and accelerate the development of carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects and hubs.

Decision makers can use the tracker to monitor progress and make plans, as it provides a clear view of permitting activity based on publicly available data issued by national authorities.
