Threats to the Army's secrets are increasing as adversaries seek to gain an edge in the technology race.
A handful of Army counterintelligence agents are working to keep the Army's secrets safe, particularly at events like the Association of the U.S. Army Annual Meeting & Exposition.
“Now more than ever, our adversaries absolutely have a full court press on us in both the cyber domain and physical domain,” said Brig. Sean Stinchon, head of Army Counterintelligence Command. “They’re coming after our people, networks and critical infrastructure.”
Foreign agents attend such shows to collect sensitive information and exploit people, according to Stinchon. The counterintelligence team collaborates with law enforcement to track possible incursions by foreign agents and actors.
