International E-Waste Day 2025 has seen a range of regional and wider-scale initiatives being undertaken to better reclaim critical raw materials from cables and unused electricals.
Some examples of work underway for this year includes local authority-led efforts to promote the recycling of unwanted cables in line with a wider nationwide campaign to provide opportunities to return waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) for treatment.
International E-Waste Day is held annually on 14 October and has been devised by the WEEE Forum body that represents 50 producer responsibility organisations working around the world on managing and recycling various materials from unused electronic equipment.
