Seven individuals will be canonized by Pope Leo XIV on October 19, recognizing their unwavering faith amidst spiritual and personal challenges.
According to OSV News, these soon-to-be-saints "experienced different elements of struggle throughout their lives" but "they maintained a constant relationship with the Lord."
- Blessed María Carmen Elena Rendiles Martínez, born without a left arm, overcame physical challenges and founded the Servants of Jesus of Caracas.
- The canonizations will elevate seven candidates from Venezuela, Turkey, Papua New Guinea, and Italy to sainthood.
They maintained a constant relationship with the Lord.
The Vatican announced the canonizations on June 13 during the pope’s first ordinary public consistory.
