West Virginia's injuries keep piling up, even during the bye week. Rich Rodriguez announced that quarterback Nicco Marchiol is officially done for the season with a lingering mid-foot injury.
Marchiol started in four games this season and led WVU on the comeback against Pitt in the Backyard Brawl. He had visited a specialist before the Utah game in Colorado and also sought a second opinion in Arizona, where he is from.
There were reports that Marchiol would medically redshirt and enter the transfer portal at the end of the season. However, Rodriguez hinted that Marchiol was back in Morgantown, trying his best to help out.
