Fifth Adopted Child Sues Sissonville Couple

A civil complaint has been filed against Donald Lantz, 61, and Jeanna Whitefeather, 63, a Sissonville couple convicted in a historic child abuse, forced labor, and human trafficking case.

The guardian of the adopted child has filed suit, alleging

“severe and outrageous” mistreatment that “went beyond all bounds of decency to be tolerated in a civilized community”

Charleston attorney Joseph Spano filed the lawsuit in Kanawha County Circuit Court, marking the fifth adopted child to sue the couple, claiming

“shocking and severe physical and emotional abuse and neglect”
.

The lawsuit is the latest in a series of civil complaints against the couple.
