Family Honors Late Son with Memorial 5K
A Columbus family continues to honor their late son's memory through a charitable race that supports local causes, more than three years after his passing.
Sims Vickers, 14, took his own life in March 2022. His parents and church are hosting the third annual Sims Vickers Memorial Let It Shine 5K in Columbus.
- The race has raised $25,000 overall for local nonprofits in previous years.
- This year's event will benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown, the only NICU in the region.
