The Yellowknife Salvation Army had a big weekend, providing Thanksgiving dinner to many in need.
Approximately 250 people attended a traditional turkey meal on Monday, served restaurant-style.
Everybody seemed to appreciate the service and the food, said Tony Brushett, executive director of the Yellowknife Salvation Army.
The organization also sold 600 hampers on Saturday, raising close to $20,000 for groceries to support the food bank. An additional $1,000 was donated for food security programs.
According to Brushett,
it was a busy weekend, but a very successful weekend.
