Payne, Tander Win Bathurst 1000
Matt Payne and Garth Tander have won the Bathurst 1000 after prevailing in an enthralling wet-weather race.
James Golding crossed the finish line first, but received a five-second penalty after colliding with Cooper Murray at Griffin's Bend, allowing Payne to take the lead with four laps remaining.
"It's absolutely insane,"
Payne told Fox Sports, after holding on in a tense top-three battle across the final lap to claim his first Bathurst 1000 win, while co-driver Tander won his sixth title.
