In this grim future, those who don't join are hunted down and killed. However, there are always those who try to fight back, which leads us to Iron & Frost, a tie-in series that takes Emma Frost back to New York.
The book reveals some surprising secrets and leans into a brief period in Emma Frost's history, specifically Gerry Duggan's Invincible Iron Man run, where Emma was in a relationship with Iron Man and a member of the Hellfire Club.
