Unbreakable X-Men #1 Review
Unbreakable X-Men features rich emotional storytelling, but fails to utilize the freedom of an alternate universe story like "The Age of Revelation" to its full potential.
The X-Men's latest event story, "The Age of Revelation", has begun, taking readers ten years into the future, where Revelation, formerly Doug Ramsey, controls a large portion of the United States amidst a virus-ravaged human race.
The X-Men, the last remaining superheroes, strive to free the Revelation territories while safeguarding the rest of the world.
Unbreakable X-Men #1 focuses on the Uncanny X-Men team in this dark future, with an interesting build, but ultimately falls short of coming together.
Simone doesn’t really use the idea of “The Age of Revelation” to its utmost, and that’s a problem for this issue.
