Director Scott Cooper on Working with Bruce Springsteen
Director Scott Cooper discusses his experience working with Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White on the new biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere.
Cooper shares that Springsteen visited the set just four days into shooting, which added to the pressure of making a film about a cultural icon.
“Look, any time you’re making a film about a cultural icon and someone who’s as legendary as Bruce, there’s always trepidation, right?”
The film is based on Warren Zanes' 2023 Nebraska-era biography and stars Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen.
According to Cooper, Springsteen was not directive during his visit, and the director notes that Springsteen was emotional after watching part of the movie, saying "Bruce came out of the movie with tears in his eyes…"
