Arrests Made in Connection with Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

West Yorkshire Police have arrested two men, aged 25 and 43, in connection with the murder of Ian Watkins, the former singer of the rock band Lostprophets and a convicted paedophile.

Watkins, 48, was serving a 35-year sentence for child sex offences, including attempting to rape a baby, when he was murdered in Wakefield Prison on October 11th.

Officers were called by staff at the prison at 9.39am to reports of a serious assault on a prisoner. A man aged 48 was found with serious injuries. Despite medical attention he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation has been launched, and West Yorkshire Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Watkins' death.
