Chris White Impresses at Bathurst Debut
Christchurch motorsport star Chris White, the Rookie winner in the 2024-2025 Bridgestone GR86 Championship, made a notable debut at Bathurst, supporting the Bathurst 1000.
White, who secured his drive in the third round of the 2025 Toyota Australia GR Cup due to his rookie successes in New Zealand, aimed to make steady progress throughout the practice sessions, qualifying, and three races.
On the weekend's first race, a huge crash eliminated his chance of progressing from 26th spot on the grid. However, he showed significant improvement in the remaining two races, moving to 22nd in the second race and finishing 14th in the final race on Sunday.
"We had set out to find the pace to be in or just outside the top ten within the three races so in the end getting to 14th with only two races was pretty satisfying,"
he said, reflecting on his performance.
