RISE Study: Growing Demand for Childcare Services

The Regional Industry Support Enterprise (RISE) has released a comprehensive study on the demand for childcare services in the eight-county RISE region, which includes Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Liberty, and Screven counties.

The study, prepared by Georgia Southern University's Center for Business Analytics and Economic Research and EDA University Center Program, was funded by Norfolk Southern's Thriving Communities grant program.

Quality childcare isn’t just a family issue; it’s an economic one. When parents have reliable, affordable childcare, our entire region benefits.

According to RISE President and CEO Anna Chafin, understanding the challenges related to childcare is crucial for supporting families, childcare providers, and employers.

Key findings of the study indicate that demand for childcare will accelerate, highlighting the need for reliable and affordable childcare services in the region.
