Province to Change Licence Plate Theme
The provincial government is planning to introduce a new design for licence plates, with a theme of "Strong and Free" that reflects Alberta's identity and pride.
Starting in 2026, the new plates will feature one of eight unique designs that incorporate the province's landscape and history, as chosen by residents through online voting until November 15.
The motto's inclusion on the licence plates will also serve as a nod to Canada's national anthem and Alberta's position as a strong and sovereign province within a united Canada.
