Atlantic Hurricane Season Update
A new tropical wave in the Atlantic may develop next week, with no threat to the Carolinas.
Tropical Storm Lorenzo has formed in the open Atlantic, making it the twelfth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
New Areas of Development
- A tropical wave southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands has a 30% chance of developing in the next seven days.
- A non-tropical low east of New England and south of Nova Scotia has a small window of subtropical or tropical development.
Neither of these areas poses a threat to the mainland U.S. or the Carolinas at this time.
Hurricane Season ends on November 30th.
