Arrests in Child Abuse Case
A Muroc Joint Unified School District employee and his wife were arrested on alleged child abuse charges related to three children under 14.
According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, 38-year-old Matthew James and his 35-year-old wife, Brittany James, were arrested on October 14, 2025, by Mojave/Boron substation deputies.
The arrest was made after deputies responded to a report of possible child abuse in the North Edwards area, where they identified three victims of suspected child abuse under 14 years old.
