A cargo plane skidded off the runway at Hong Kong International Airport and landed in the sea, resulting in the death of two security personnel.

The incident occurred on Monday, October 20, at approximately 03:50 local time (19:50 GMT). The plane, a Boeing 747 over 30 years old, broke into two after landing in the sea.

The two security personnel, aged 30 and 41, were killed when their vehicle was pushed into the sea by the plane. All four crew members onboard were rescued and taken to hospital.

The plane, an Emirates flight EK9788 owned by Turkish cargo airline Air ACT, was involved in the mishap.
