Despite China's leading electric vehicle industry with over 100 brands, Americans are not sold on cheap Chinese EVs, according to a poll by the University of Chicago and AP-NORC.
The poll found that even with a $10,000 price difference, a majority of respondents prefer vehicles made in the U.S.A. However, the advantage for U.S. cars narrows as the savings increase.
Two thirds of Americans say it would be worth $500 more to buy a U.S. car.
