Charlie Kirk's accused assassin requests to wear civilian clothing, be unshackled

Charlie Kirk's Accused Assassin Requests Special Treatment

The defense team for the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, has made a request to Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Tony Graf Jr.

They are asking to allow their client to appear in civilian clothing without restraints at all court proceedings.

In a filing called "Defendant's Reply to Sheriff's Response to Motion to Appear at All In-Person Proceedings in Civilian Clothing and Without Restraints," attorneys Kathy Nester, Michael Burt, Richard Novak, and Staci Visser made the request.

They also ask to ban cameras in the courtroom, citing a "content tornado" and numerous articles and viral videos that could potentially devastate the jury pool if new images of the accused in jail attire are released.

The filing states that any new images of the accused in jail attire could be "potentially devastating to the jury pool."

Author's summary: Accused assassin requests special treatment.
