Yorgos Lanthimos Needs a Break from Filmmaking
Yorgos Lanthimos, a 5x Oscar nominee, is set to release his latest film, Bugonia, on October 31, starring Emma Stone.
Following the release, Lanthimos expressed his need for a break, stating:
“I’m going to take a little break. Hold me to it”
This is not the first time he has considered taking a break, having mentioned it after his previous films, Poor Things (2023) and Kinds of Kindness (2024).
Lanthimos acknowledged his previous statements, saying:
“Well, I can’t keep doing that anymore. [Laughs] That’s what we’re certain of right now”
and admitted that taking a break is necessary, calling his previous intentions
“a big mistake”.
