Noise Complaint Leads to Multiple Charges
A noise complaint on Friday night resulted in a series of charges for a Pikeville man.
Police arrested 26-year-old Yates of Pikeville and charged him with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
- First-degree criminal mischief
- Disorderly conduct
- Operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license
- Inadequate muffler
- Reckless driving
- Improper equipment
According to police, the noise complaint was reported on Kentucky Avenue, and officers could hear the loud noise, possibly from a motorcycle or car, before even getting into their patrol car on Garred Street.
Police said even prior to getting in their patrol car on Garred Street they could hear what might have been a motorcycle or loud car being repeatedly reeved up.
