The Dexter Community Band has prepared a free fall concert, featuring dance music from Broadway, ballet, and the Big Band swing era.
The concert will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, at Dexter High School. The band's selections include Four Dances from West Story, Aaron Copland's Hoe Down, and a medley of Big Band favorites such as A String of Pearls and Satin Doll.
Other notable pieces include a musical spoof of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas titled Pineapple Poll and the fast-paced Dance of the Jesters by Peter Tchaikovsky.
The band's director, William W. Gourley, will lead the musicians in a thrilling performance.
