Cascadia residents and poets consider themselves lucky inhabitants of Cascadia, an ecological region that begins in southeast Alaska and slips down through Canada, drifting into eastern Washington, Idaho, and Montana, then flowing on south along the coast into Oregon and Northern California.
It’s a region of matchless beauty, with wide and roaring rivers, soft flowing tributaries, fog forests held aloft by ancient cedars, redwoods, and Doug firs, and a coastline of fractals, of splendor and geological majesty.
