Incident in Calaveras County
A 38-year-old man from Copperopolis was arrested after threatening a group of people with a switchblade.
According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's officials, the incident occurred on October 25, 2025, at around 11:10 p.m. in the Angels Camp area.
- The suspect, Casey Daniel Purser, was intoxicated and attempted to start a fight while holding a switchblade knife.
- Deputies found Purser inside a large building, holding the knife, and ordered him to get on the ground.
- Instead of complying, Purser began walking towards the deputies.
The suspect threatened a room full of people with the weapon.
Purser is currently being held without bail.
