Revival of 14er Brewing in the Mountains
A shuttered RiNo beer brand, 14er Brewing, is set to be revived in Poncha Springs under new ownership.
“It’s a great brand for Chaffee County,”
said Derek Heersink, the buyer and founder of Alamosa’s Spare Keg Brewerks. The brand operated at 3120 Blake St. in Denver from 2018 through last November.
Heersink bought the company’s naming rights and recipes from 14er co-founders Andrew Kaczmarek and Nate Francescato earlier this year, citing the brand's potential in Chaffee County, which has more 14ers than anywhere in the country.
- 14er Brewing's brewery and taproom in Denver's RiNo neighborhood closed in November 2024 after an eight-year run.
