The Caribou Ranch, a 1,700-acre property near Nederland, has been taken off the market after being listed for $48.5 million in 2024.
The property, linked to the Walton family of Walmart, features several buildings, including a primary residence, horse barns, equipment buildings, guest cabins, and a six-room lodge.
The ranch was purchased by Indian Peaks Holdings LLC for $32.5 million in 2014 and includes a recording studio that has hosted famous artists such as
Elton John, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.
The property was originally purchased by music producer Jim Guercio in 1971, who turned it into a recording retreat, but sold half the land to Boulder County and the city of Boulder after a fire damaged the studio.
