Claressa Shields Calls Out Jake Paul For Acting Shocked About Gervonta Davis

Claressa Shields has criticized Jake Paul for his reaction to allegations involving Gervonta "Tank" Davis, following reports of another domestic violence case against the lightweight boxer.

Paul’s company, Most Valuable Promotions, announced that its November 14 Netflix event “will no longer be moving forward.” According to Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian, they attempted to handle the matter responsibly and plan to reschedule Paul’s fight with a new opponent in 2025.

The incident surfaced after court documents revealed that Davis’ ex-girlfriend accused him of choking her inside a Miami strip club on October 27. In response, Paul labeled Davis as “an actual walking human piece of garbage” in a post on X.

Shields’ Response

“I have a few things to say about that,” Shields said on X Spaces. “One: I will say this, I'm not going to say I 100 percent agree with what Jake said, but what I will say is that we all knew Tank's background with domestic violence before his fight got made.”

“Before any of his fights get made, we already know he's got some issues with this. This is not his first, second, or even third time with something like this coming out.”

Author’s Summary

Shields argues that Jake Paul’s outrage over Gervonta Davis’ alleged conduct feels hypocritical, as Davis’ history of domestic violence has long been known in boxing circles.
