The upcoming Beatles biopics have officially cast Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce to portray the wives of the legendary band members. Each actress will play a key figure married to one of the Fab Four during the peak of the band's fame in the 1960s.
The film series titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event will explore the story from the viewpoints of each band member:
The narrative follows their rise from Liverpool newcomers in the early 1960s to becoming the world's biggest band, culminating in their breakup in 1970.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” said director Sam Mendes.
This marks the first authorized theatrical feature film to have obtained music and life rights from the band and their descendants. Notably, Linda McCartney, née Eastman, met Paul McCartney in 1967 while working as a photographer.
Author’s summary: The Beatles’ wives are portrayed by top actresses in a groundbreaking four-film series, offering intimate insights into the band’s story from 1960s Liverpool stardom to their 1970 breakup.
