Laila Ali has firmly ended her long-standing dispute with Claressa Shields, refusing both a $15 million fight offer and any reconciliation. The retired champion and daughter of Muhammad Ali made her decision public on her podcast, “Laila Ali KO,” on October 30.
“Absolutely not,” Laila Ali said when asked if Shields’ campaign to provoke her had succeeded. “After years of lies, disrespect, and crossing the line by invoking my late father’s name, there is no coming back from that.”
Ali, 47, accused Shields of using her father’s legacy to discredit her and spreading false stories. She made it clear that Shields will not be rewarded with what would have been her biggest payday or any shared spotlight.
According to Laila, the boundary was crossed beyond repair, and she sees no scenario where she would ever face Claressa Shields again—inside the ring or elsewhere.
Laila Ali closed the door on a fight with Claressa Shields, rejecting a $15 million offer and condemning years of personal attacks involving her late father’s legacy.
