Organisers received a seven-figure financial offer from Qatar to host the World Club Challenge, featuring the Super League and NRL champions overseas. This proposal attracted serious consideration due to Qatar's strong enthusiasm and the significant monetary incentive.
Despite the lucrative offer, Hull KR and Brisbane Broncos chose to keep the game in the UK for the following year. The Robins plan to host the match in Hull, aiming to maintain local support and capitalize on a sell-out crowd, inspired by Wigan's success in 2024 when they defeated the Penrith Panthers.
If the match takes place at the MKM Stadium, it would need to be scheduled midweek. Hull City is scheduled for a home game on the Saturday that week, and Hull KR must fly to Las Vegas on Sunday to compete against Leeds Rhinos at Allegiant Stadium.
"We were considering taking the game to MKM Stadium following our Grand Final success," said Paul Lakin, CEO of Hull KR.
Preparations are nearing completion, and there is strong confidence the fixture will proceed as planned in the UK.
