After being acquired in the Kevin Durant trade, Jalen Green has been sidelined with a hamstring strain and is now ready to play for the Phoenix Suns.
The final part of the major Kevin Durant trade fell into place when the Suns faced the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. Jalen Green, a 23-year-old guard who averaged 20.1 points per game during his four-year career with the Houston Rockets, made his Suns debut after missing the preseason and first eight regular-season games due to a right hamstring strain.
In the 2025 offseason trade that sent future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant to Houston, Phoenix received Green along with Dillon Brooks and the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 draft, which was used to select Khaman Maluach.
Despite being new to Phoenix and not having played in a Suns uniform before, Green expressed that he has quickly adjusted and formed strong bonds within the team.
“Coming here, I got to know [the team], and I picked up with everybody very fast. Everyone is cool and has the same goals and mentality, so that makes it easy when you’re chasing that same goal with somebody. … From the coaching staff, to the players, to the front office, everyone is just great. The relationships molded fast.”
Green clearly feels at home with the Suns, both on and off the court.
Jalen Green’s long-awaited debut for the Suns marks a hopeful new chapter as he joins a team where strong connections and shared goals quickly formed.
