Hydro One Selects AtkinsRéalis for Key Substation Expansion

AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. (TSX: ATRL), a leading engineering services and nuclear company with global offices, has been chosen by Hydro One Networks Inc. for a multi-year Owner's Engineer mandate to expand the Bowmanville Switching Station.

Project Details

The Bowmanville Switching Station, located opposite the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, will be expanded to accommodate the grid connection of four planned Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). These reactors are part of Ontario Power Generation's Darlington New Nuclear Project.

Significance of the Project

This expansion is a critical component to ensure electricity supply from the new SMRs to southern Ontario, including Toronto.
