The EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy, 42, stirred controversy by revisiting her claims of being bullied at school, implicating her famous classmate Paloma Faith. This dispute first drew public attention in June when Cassidy spoke candidly about her difficult school experience.
Paloma Faith responded by revealing she had also been bullied, adding complexity to the confrontation between the two.
On Katherine Ryan's What's My Age Again podcast, Natalie reiterated that she was singled out at school, attributing the bullying partly to jealousy over her role on EastEnders, which she landed at just 10 years old.
"There wasn't anywhere else I wanted to be. Maybe because when I wasn't there, school was difficult, people were jealous."
"You know, there was bullying that went on. So I always just wanted to be there because it was so fun and I was surrounded by nice people."
Although she did not explicitly name Paloma in this interview, Cassidy’s earlier comments had sparked much discussion about their past.
Both women’s accounts shed light on how bullying can affect those in the public eye from a young age.
