Recently released images show Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir walking among handcuffed Palestinian prisoners, who are seated on the ground, humiliated and guarded by armed soldiers. This scene was openly displayed by Ben Gvir, representing the most brutal and openly racist aspect of the Zionist regime.
Ben Gvir is not an anomaly within the Israeli system; he embodies its core reality. His supremacist rhetoric, disdain for Palestinian life, and promotion of violence as a political tool are not exceptions but reflect a colonial project that enforces state-sanctioned contempt for Palestinians.
The presence of this official among subjugated men, deprived of dignity, is meant to send a clear message: Israel can continue humiliating Palestinians with impunity and without consequences. Yet, the perpetrators overlook that each image of oppression serves as a historical record of injustice, and every act of humiliation fuels the Palestinians' resolve to secure their freedom.
The international community, through its silence, allows Zionist fascism to become normalized. Governments that champion human rights yet remain silent before these actions become complicit in cruelty. From the Palestinian Union of Latin America (UPAL), we denounce this act of planned cruelty as part of a systematic policy of dehumanization.
Author’s summary: This text condemns the brutal treatment of Palestinians by Israeli officials like Ben Gvir, highlighting systemic state racism and urging global accountability.
