Antonio Brown, former NFL star, was arrested in connection with an attempted murder charge following a shooting after a celebrity boxing event in Miami.
Brown played briefly for the New England Patriots in 2019, appearing in just one game. His time with the team ended amid multiple allegations of rape, sexual assault, and harassment that arose during his two-week tenure.
The Patriots faced ongoing criticism from fans and media for signing Brown.
According to an arrest warrant, the shooting took place on May 16 after the boxing match. Brown allegedly took a handgun from a security staffer and fired two shots at a man with whom he had earlier gotten into a fistfight.
"One of the bullets grazed [the victim's] neck," Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu told investigators.
It is currently unknown whether Brown has legal representation or when he will be returned to Miami.
Antonio Brown’s brief and controversial NFL tenure contrasts sharply with his recent arrest on an attempted murder charge following a Miami boxing event shooting.
