With the Trump Administration threatening to cut SNAP benefits for millions, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has initiated a food drive to assist the Los Angeles Food Bank and the St. Joseph Center.
The government shutdown has reached 36 days, setting a new record, and uncertainty remains over the future of food stamp payments for 42 million Americans who depend on SNAP benefits.
“Cutting SNAP benefits creates uncertainty for American children, seniors and families. To support our community members in need, we’re starting a donation center in our Hollywood backlot to benefit the @LAFoodBank & @StJosephCtr. If you are in LA, please come by to donate food and if you are not, please consider supporting your local food banks.”
Named “The Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank,” the donation site is open from 9 a.m. at 6901 Hawthorn Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90028.
