The wait is nearly over for the first trailer of Avengers: Doomsday. The Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off Phase 6 this summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will conclude by 2027 with two upcoming Avengers movies.
Collider has confirmed that the Avengers: Doomsday trailer will premiere in theaters before Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, 2025.
Principal photography for this Phase 6 film finished on September 19, 2025. The movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, known for their work on previous MCU team-up films.
This ensemble movie will feature the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU timeline, taking on a surprising new role as Victor von Doom, also known as Doom, one of Marvel's iconic villains.
Downey Jr. will also portray Doom in the 2027 release, Avengers: Secret Wars, which has not yet begun filming.
