Raheem Sterling has not featured in a competitive match for Chelsea since his return to the club this summer from Arsenal and remains excluded from the first-team squad under head coach Enzo Maresca.
The former Liverpool and Manchester City forward last played in May, assisting Arsenal in a 2-1 win over Southampton during his season-long loan. Unable to secure a transfer away from Chelsea before the summer window closed, Sterling remains sidelined, with Maresca not including him in his plans.
With no matches in sight, Sterling has been focusing on coaching young players. He shared a video on Instagram from his RS7 Academy with the caption:
Repetitions on Left Foot Finishing. Every Detail Matters.
The RS7 Academy, launched by Sterling in August, aims to provide young players with support, structure, and belief.
Maresca has shown some respect for Sterling’s commitment off the field, comparing his situation to his father's long working hours as a fisherman. After the transfer window closed, Maresca addressed the difficulties faced by players excluded from the squad who could not secure moves elsewhere.
